Descripción
Patchalume Update Manager gives site owners control over automatic updates and which administrator accounts can manage updates.
By default, automatic updates for WordPress core, plugins, themes, and translations are disabled. Each category can be configured independently. Manual plugin and theme updates can be denied globally or for selected installed items through WordPress capability checks. WordPress update candidates and update data are not modified.
Choose which administrator accounts may access the Updates screen, install plugins, and use the built-in file editors. Until an account is selected, all administrator accounts retain access to prevent an accidental lockout. Other users cannot access these controls.
The optional schedule temporarily hides update counts and notices through a selected site-local date. It does not prevent an authorized administrator or an external tool from applying updates.

Preguntas frecuentes
-
Does this plugin install updates?
-
No. It controls WordPress automatic-update filters and update permissions. WordPress remains responsible for providing and installing updates.
-
Why does the plugin use the automatic plugin-update filter?
-
The auto_update_plugin filter is a WordPress core policy hook used only to disable automatic plugin updates when configured. It does not fetch or install updates; WordPress core handles those operations.
-
What happens when no administrator is selected?
-
All administrator accounts retain access until at least one account is selected. This bootstrap behavior prevents an accidental lockout.
-
Does the notification schedule block updates?
-
No. It hides update counts and notices through the selected site-local date. It does not disable automatic updates or block update installation.
-
How do plugin and theme update scopes work?
-
WordPress exposes global manual update capabilities. In selected-only mode, targeted updates for selected plugins or themes are denied by the capability check; a bulk request containing any selected item is denied as a whole. Update candidates remain visible and available in WordPress.
-
Can non-selected administrators install plugins or edit plugin/theme files?
-
No. Those capabilities and the corresponding admin screens are restricted to selected administrator accounts.
